Happy New Year!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

(Picture from Uncooked *wink-wink* )

My exams are coming up, so aside from the normal holiday stress, I'm pretty much freaking out. There's just so much to do!

For example, I have to have a project ready in a few days. This project is my first Solo.
(This school year, we have to make 2 solo projects. They are rather important; we are getting rated on these things, blah.)

The task for this first Solo is the same for each student: Man/Woman/Setting.
You are judged on creativity, story/script, production and directing skills.

And now I'm pretty much stressing about everything: My storyline seems poor, my storyboard sucks, I don't even know if my actors are going to do what I want them to do...

And in the meanwhile, there are still exams to be studied, holiday guests who are coming over...
People's birthdays I shouldn't forget...

My head seems to explode!

But today, it doesn't really matter. I have everything prepared for the shooting, so I refuse to stress about that any longer. We'll just have to wait and see how it goes when the camera is rolling, eh.

I'm just going to do some studying now, until the guests arrive...

So... I wish everyone a very Happy New Year! Happy 2008!

Love,
Andi

P.S: sorry about the whining! *oops*

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Well, I had a few computer problems lately. Everything seems to be fixed again, now, thank God!
I swear, it's frustrating when you have a little Internet addiction... *lalalala*

And, wow, it's Christmas Eve already! Yes, time goes by so quickly. It's our first Christmas in our new home. We've bought a very large Christmas tree, a fake one. But it looks really pretty. We just didn't want a real tree, since every time we buy one, it ends with the garbage instead of in our garden.
The fake one wasn't that expensive, so there you go: no more money for a tree every year, and no more poor trees that get killed because of us ;-)

I've also made a CD for my mom. Yes, 'made'. The newest Josh Groban, Noël.
Well, yes, Christmas shopping always tends to get so very expensive, certainly for such a poor student like myself, so I just downloaded it. When you have no money, you have to be creative, eh?
I printed the cover picture on a piece of paper, and voila! My mom has a brand new Josh Groban CD...

For myself, I've rediscovered those old Christmas songs from Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby and Elvis Presley. They're gorgeous. So I made a CD with those songs as well, hahaha ;-)

And now there's only one thing left to say:
I wish you guys a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Enjoy the holidays!

Love and Hugs,
Andi!

P.S: Yes, I made that drawing ;-)

Time for another TT, number 14!

Well, last week, I completely forgot to write a TT entry... *whoopsie*

But since I have a bit of free time today, I know what to do ;-)

I haven't told you yet, but (since yesterday), I have an Algerian stalker. No really, it's true!

To make a long story short, he's got my number and now he's calling/text-messaging me quite often...

Now I'm thinking about 13 methods to get rid of him...

  1. Say I'm from the VB, a political party here in Flanders which tends towards extreme nationalism (and racism).

  2. Say I have a STD.

  3. Or that my husband is released from prison next week. A really cute guy tattooed all over his body. BWAHAHA!

  4. Perhaps I could say that I don't want a guy with the brains of a goldfish. Even a goldfish would be smarter than him! (believe me, that's true)

  5. From now on, I could eat garlic everyday, just in case...

  6. Or become terribly fat...

  7. Or let him smell my stinky shoes.

  8. I could tell him I'm gay. Which of course isn't true, heh.

  9. Say I'm in a relationship with somebody else...

  10. I could let my cat attack him.

  11. Or my sister's new boyfriend.

  12. I could change my cell phone number.
  13. Oh, what the hell, I'll just tell him to sod off. Voila.

*Ladidah* A question for you!

Hi there,

I know, I know,... I should be doing my homework since it's a school night and such. But still, you know how it goes. There's always something better to do, eh?

So I was google-ing a bit. We had a writing class today. One of the benefits of going to a film school is that you get in touch with a lot of 'famous' people. That is, 'famous' here in Belgium, hehehe... So I was searching if I could find something about that professor scenario writing.

He is kinda' cute, really... *g*
No, truly, he is.

He always speaks so softly. I don't think he ever gets mad. And secretly, I think he's gay. I could be wrong, but then again, I could be right too.

Anyway, there I was, searching google-land for some form of live. And yes! I found his picture! *Wheeeee*

Should I post it? :P

Oh well, what harm can it do? Here you go:
Now, how old do you think he is? I swear, he is a perfect example of how I suck at guessing someone's age.

But what I want to know is if I'm the only one... So come on!
How old is my professor?

Sonja, Belgian Chocolate and Christmas!

Hi, hello ;-)

Wow... I seem to be so busy lately! I swear, school is eating my time.

Tomorrow, it will be a week since Sonja's wedding. As soon as I can I'll post some pictures, 'cause she really was beautiful on her wedding day.
It's so strange to think she has a 'husband' now.... God, I mean, time flies! It really does, no kiddin'.
I feel old and young at the same time ...*sigh*... that strange duality, it twists my mind ;-)

On a slightly larger scale then. We still don't have a government. And it's really getting time we got one. Remember that Thursday Thirteen post? Well, Leterme isn't "formateur" anymore(Don't know the English word here). He blew it yet again.
Now we're depending on our former Premier, Verhofstadt, to save us from this mess. I wonder where that's going to lead us...
And that with the Leterme-antics going on. That man keeps on making mistake after mistake.
Apparently, Leterme made a comparison between our French television station, the RTBF, and that radio station Mille Collines in Rwanda.
Of course, now everyone is mad at him. Which is very understandable.
So now our country is coping with a dilemma: A transitional government or an emergency government...
We'll see soon enough, I guess. I only hope they clean up this mess quickly!

On another note, Christmas is almost there! *Wheeeee*
Who has been Christmas shopping already? *I have - I have*
I don't have everything just yet... I still have to see if I can find some small things, but otherwise I'm done :D
In two weeks it's Christmas, so I have a little time left. Oh well...

Anyway, I wanted to share something with you guys. To bring you in the spirit of Christmas ;-)
Ever wanted to see me dance? Check it out here :P
One chance only!

Love
Andi

Surprise!!!

Hey there!

Here I am... Wheee!
Today I have a day off from school, so I'm using my time now to talk to you guys. Isn't that sweet?

You know what else's sweet too? You'll never guess it. Never!

Never!!!!

Never, I say!!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHA.... *Andi going maniacal*

Okay, I'll tell... Only because you are giving me those odd looks. Stop staring at me as if you're thinking I'm wacko...

Thanks...

Well, what's the news now, you're wondering?

Sonja's getting married! MARRIED! ....Sonja!

December the 4th is D-day.

Sometimes I think the girl is batshit crazy... I mean, she's still so young (turning 21 on December 12) and marriage is so, uhm, binding...

I'm happy for her, though. She seems really happy and very much in love. It's just a pity she's not going for the 'fairy tale wedding' like she always wanted. Instead, she's going to have a simple wedding. I even had to convince her to buy a weddingdress, can you imagine!

And that makes me think about what I want, if I'm ever getting married. I think I may perhaps be a bit influenced by Disney, ha ha! Because I wouldn't want anything different than a fairy tale wedding... *sigh*
I know I'm sentimental in that way. But I'm picturing a fabulous dress, a perfect bridesgroom, white horses, church bells ringing (although I'm not really a religious type), all my family and friends, and lots of flowers... cake and guests, dance and music... candlelight and stars....

If that isn't Disney, I don't know what is...

And yes, Sonja, Stien and I used to talk to each other about how we pictured our weddingday... Perhaps Sonja just changed her mind, and decided she doesn't want to fuss about all those silly little things. To keep it simple and 'real'.

But I can't help to feel a bit sad, heh...

Oh, yeah, she asked me to be the maid of honor. Of course I accepted. But then she went and bought herself a weddingdress, without me (or anyone else) to accompany her. That's just taking all the fun away...

So now, in a couple of days, Sonja is a married woman. And I'm still feeling like a little girl inside... afraid to grow up... and getting old.

Here's a picture of the two of them. Don't you think they look a bit like a Romance Novel Clinch Cover?!

I took it a little more than a year ago, (you know, at that party in Morocco? Yes, that's that plastic grass I told you about!).

Aren't they sweet?

I'm doing their wedding pictures, by the way... So I'll see if I can sneak some pic from D-day to show you guys ;-)

Now I have to go... Still so many things to do, and so little time!

Well, anyway, not like you lot, lying sprawled on the couch in front of the television, crying and whining: 'ooohh nooooooos, now that other guy took my girlfriend to the movies… *whine whine whine*'
No, REAL men used to say: HIM OR ME!"
  2. Andi zegt: меня зовут Andi says:

  5. Vrouwe Amantia says:
    I can picture that already:
    “you will pay dr X”
And then you: “say my name bitch”

  6. Andi zegt: меня зовут Andi says:
    Oh. my. god. Earlier.....
A guy tried to “seduce” me
    Eeeeeeeeeeeeeewwww
  7. Vrouwe Amantia says:
He was a dirtbag, I take it?
  8. Andi zegt: меня зовут Andi says:
No, he wasn’t really gross, more like the ‘dumb idiot’ type,
You know, the type with the brains of a goldfish
    *Andi quickly runs away…*
  9. Andi zegt: меня зовут Andi says:
Thank god I know there still are some guys interested in me, now,…
    If not, I might’ve tought I was a completely lost cause…
  10. Vrouwe Amantia says:
Yez one day some stupid noob will make you perfectly happy
  11. Andi zegt: меня зовут Andi says:
Wahahaha, at least, then, I’d know who’d be the most intelligent of us… :p
  12. Andi zegt: меня зовут Andi says:
You know what? We should put one of these msn conversations on our blog, someday. Whatcha think?
  13. Vrouwe Amantia says:
Yeah right! Translate it in English!
    You go girl!
For tomorrow: 13 lines from our msn conversation :p

Wow...

Wow... you'll never guess what I did last night....

I stayed up, all night... reading!

*oink*.... See?! I told you you'd never guess!

It was about midnight when I went to bed, but I didn't feel like sleeping yet. Soooo, I grabbed a book and told myself that I'd just read one chapter. One.

I ended up reading the whole damn book. When I finally closed it, I saw it was 7:15 in the morning, and it was already getting lighter outside. So, uhm, yeah, I stayed up all night.

The weird thing was, I wasn't tired at all. I had to make myself go to sleep, saying to myself what an idiot I was for staying up so late.

Uhm, early...

You know, that was actually the second night in my life I didn't sleep through. The first time was, when I was on vacation with Sonja, in Morocco. There was a wedding party going on (Sonja's sister-in-law was getting married). And we partied along. Sonja and I were dressed up like real princesses, in satin and silks. That really was the best part! Earlier that evening we'd been to the hairdresser. Which wasn't, by the way, like anything we'd ever seen before. Certainly not like the fancy salons here in Belgium. No, it was more like a crappy, too crowded, little room. At first, I didn't dare to sit down, afraid the chair might break. I had little confidence in the woman who was to do our hair. But that changed quickly. I saw her working on Sonja's hair, and well... It was like seeing a miracle happen. That woman had magic in her hands, for sure! I couldn't wait for my turn.

And so, when it was my turn, I asked if she could do my hair like a regency lady. That had been a dream of mine for so long, I couldn't resist. At first, she didn't understand a thing I was saying. It probably sounded weird in her ears, because she looked at me as if I was a complete idiot. But I managed to explain it, with the help of Sonja (her French is much better than mine) and her sister-in-law.

And that's how I got my regency hairdo. Man, it was soooooooooooooooo cool! It really was... *sigh* And it felt wonderful...

Later that night, we arrived at the villa the family had rented. At first, Sonja and I felt very much out of place. We sat with the women, and they all spoke Arabian. Probably gossiping as much as they could about us. But as the evening passed on, we began to have fun. Dancing in the main room, chatting on the terras, near the pool.

I even danced with a real gentleman. Outside, on the grass made of plastic, (Yeah, you figure that, the grass wasn't real, *oink*) he asked me to dance with him. Moroccan style, that is, *grin*. I thought I looked like an idiot, dancing like that. But he said I did a great job, hehe. When the dance was over, he thanked me for dancing with him, and I (stupid goose) couldn't suppress the urge to curtsey.

And before we knew, it was 5 in the morning. One second it was dark outside, I returned to the villa, and when I looked throught the window: poof! The sun was there. I swear, I've never seen the sun come up this quickly! (As if they'd just switched the light)

So now you know about the two times I stayed up all night. Pretty (not) impressive, huh?

Thursday Thirteen # 11

Ok, let's talk politics this time. Perhaps you guys have heard something about the situation here in Belgium? Well, let's see if we can find 13 things to rant about ;-)

  1. First of all, Leterme, the guy who won the elections in June 2007 (and who is now going for the position of prime minister), is a complete Moron (with a capital M).
(Stien: but I guess you americans know about morons in politics, whehehe).
I, Andi, said, before the elections, that I didn't want him to win. I practically prayed he wouldn't win. Not my luck, I guess, because in the news on television, everyone was soon saying he would become our new prime minister. Gah, why do they never listen to me, eh?

  2. So now, Leterme had to "lead" our country, *snort*. You just cannot believe how many times he screwed up, from July 'till now.
  3. (see map above) You have, let's say, 3 main parts in Belgium: the Flemish part (that's us), the French part, and Brussels. We, the Flemish, are the upper, red, part. Brussels is that tiny blue spot, and the french speaking people are in the light green area. The dark green area are the german speaking people. Now there's a conflict between the french and flemish. It's very complicated, and even we don't know all there is to it. But now there are some flemish guys who want to separate the two halfs.
  4. Before the elections, we had what we called a purple government (that means: the red socialists + the blue liberals). With the elections, it showed that the people wanted it different. The flemish mainly chose for Leterme's orange party (which wants a reformation of the state very much), the french speaking people chose for their blue, liberal party (which doesn't want a reformation). That means, simply put, conflict!
  5. It was Leterme's job to guide everything. To search for compromises. He blew it. The king called him back.
  6. Leterme got back, after some other people tried to get the flemish and french speaking again.
  7. The main conflict is actually BHV. Or, Brussel-Halle-Vilvoorde. Halle-Vilvoorde is an area around Brussels. Basically, it's located on flemish ground. But because of the bilangual statute of Brussels, frenchspeaking politicians can also be chosen in that area. And just that fact is a pain in the ass for some flemish politicians. So, where it all comes down to, is that the Flemish want to separate Brussel-Halle-Vilvoorde, and the French don't.
  8. It was Leterme's job to search for a compromise. He blew it, again.
  9. The Flemish politicians threatened to vote for a seperation of BHV, without the French, if the French wouldn't cooperate and/or search for a compromise. The French said: "If they are really going to vote for a separation, we pull the plug from the negotiations."
  10. Yesterday, the Flemish politicians actually voted. Before the voting took place, all the French politicians left the room to show their protest.
  11. That's not all of it. Now, the French can still stop the whole separation by pulling all kinds of tricks in the parliament. That means, at least for 60 days now, the separation of BHV is put aside. 60 Days, untill the whole matter is brought to parliament.
  12. The king spoke with Leterme today. The king wants Leterme to form a government, and quick. But, let's be honest... who's he kiddin'? Leterme is a ninny.
  13. And in the end, who was right? Yep, me. I am so glad I didn't vote for Leterme. What a freakshow!

We tried to explain everything as clear as possible. I hope we made the situation here in Belgium a bit clear ;-)

Love!
Andi & Stien

The documentary is finished!

Wow... I really got up late this morning.

Erm... this afternoon, more likely.

Normally, when I don't have to go to school, I wake up rather early. Let's say, about 8.30 - 9.00. But today? Wow... It was 12.54 when I woke up. I'm shocked! Luckily my mom wasn't home. She left me a note on the table saying she went out to do some shopping and visiting a friend for her birthday.
I had just shoved a bowl of cereals in, when she got back. I said hi, we talked a bit and then she asked when I got up. Hahaha... I was too ashamed to admit it had been just 15 minutes, so I mumbled something.

Then I went upstairs to work a bit on my documentary. It's finished now, but I have some mixed feelings about it. Perhaps the music is a bit too sentimental, I really don't like my face (ugh!) and in the end, it isn't really a documentary in the strict sense of the word.
But, then again, I like how my family and friends are portrayed ;-)

What do you guys think? I'll post it at the end of this entry...

And with working on the docu, I hadn't much time for Nano. Oopsie. But I'll make it up by writing this evening. Wheeee :D
So now I'm still stuck on 3.134 words... I know it's not much... and I really have no clue how I'll ever reach the 50.000. *sigh*
I'll just have to keep on writing, I guess.

P.S: uploading this video was a real pain in the ass... Gah. I had to use Photobucket, but that means the quality is bad... I hope you don't mind ;-)

A piece of Nano...

Hi everyone!

I was just working on my Nano project this morning, when I remembered that Frigga asked if I would post something of it here. So I looked if there was something that might interest you guys. I don't know if it's any good, though. I had to translate everything from Dutch to English. And yes, I know I write in English here on Pervy, but it's a whole lot different to write fiction in English too. (And yes, I know I still make a lot of mistakes I'm not aware of :P )

So cut me some slack ;-) and enjoy my horrible scribblings, hahaha.

Shaw's mouth curled up in a mocking smile. He saw how uncomfortably she felt on her feet, sunk in the soft moquette. He saw how her hands moved nervously. She didn’t know what to do with them.
But suddenly she looked right at him and Shaw seemed to freeze on the spot.
She smiled the same smile that had become his trade mark, and raised her chin. Shaw’s eyes changed to warning slits and his mouth became a tight line.
She noticed nothing of it, and even if she did, she didn’t give a damn. She continued to look at him and stepped slowly towards him. Shaw tried to halt her with his gaze, but that did not seem to bother her at all. She still approached.
She stopped right in front of him. A couple of seconds, neither spoke. Both remained silent.
Shaw refused to give in. He resembled a statue, leaning against his table and unwilling to move even a centimeter. Miss Parker stood right in front of him, and she too, refused to give in and withdraw.
They continued to stare at each other. Tension filled the air with a warm glow.
Then, her smile changed, evolved to something more. It broke through completely. Her eyes seemed to sparkle and Shaw could do nothing else but swallow and stare back at her. She seemed to know that this victory belonged to her.
Yet Shaw remained perfectly still. And as said, he resembled a statue, with his cold, tight, and by a lot of people probably described as deadly, expression. But Miss Parker smiled as if she knew something about him. A secret, a certain knowledge. She seemed to want to play with him, very much like how a cat plays with a mouse. Shaw could easily picture her with pointy ears and a tail. He almost laughed, but in place of that, he lifted his eyebrow and looked at her askingly. She seemed to want something from him, but what?
Suddenly, she shoved her hand right under his nose.
“You have a deal, My Lord. From now on, I will be your new house keeper.”

Ow god, now I'm ashamed... Blaaaah ha ha ha...

What classic movie are you?

I was visiting Frigga's blog, and when I saw her newest post, I decided I had to take that quiz too!
I mean, wheeeee, I wanted to know what movie I am. Turns out I'm an 'eeeeasy riderrr'. Yay.
See what it says? I just want to be calm, cool and comfortable. Yeah baby, you got that?

In the meanwhile, I went to shoot my documentary assignment for school today. Don't know how that's going to turn out. I'll have to see, I guess.
So now, for the rest of my day, I'm going to divide my time between editing the documentary and writing on my Nano project. I have 2.415 words, btw.
Only 47.585 words to go.... *whee*

Woohoo!

I have a title for my NaNoWriMo project!

And the winner is.......:

I thought it would fit perfectly with my story, since it's all about perception.
About how my (Anti) Hero sees the world. And about how others see the Hero. Ok, I admit, this is not very romantic looking. And yes, it's still going to be a romance story, although I would rather call it a Dark Romance (Muahahahaaaa!!!)

I thought of a pretty name for him too, he he he. He's now named Illias Shaw.
(<--- This is him, here. See?! He has that 'evil' look, oh yeah!)
The Heroine has the lovely name Rebecca (or Becca for short) Parker. Don't have a picture of her yet, but that'll come. Don't worry ;-)
Tomorrow it's the 1st. Exciting! :-D

Wish me luck ;-)

P.S: Ooops, I forgot to mention a Happy Halloween to you all!

NaNoWriMo

Hi guys!

I'm thinking of participating with NaNoWriMo this year. I discovered it last year, mid November. I didn't participate then, not enough time, but I guess I'll take my chance this year. It seems like a lot of fun, trying to write a book. And since I always wanted to do that, I guess this is my moment, eh? ;-)

Of course, deciding to do Nano this year means I had to make a few choices. I won't be writing in English. If I ever want to reach that 50K in a month's time, I think I'll have to stick with my Dutch.
Also, over the last few years, I worked and plotted out about 4 stories. All historical romances. For this Nano, I want to write a historical too, but not one of my 4 pet projects. I'm afraid to touch them, and/or perhaps to ruin them, hahaha... So I had to think out a whole new idea. I did that last week. I'm not sure what to think of it yet. I have my plot outlined already, but I don't know if I even like my characters.
The story itself is OK, I guess. But those characters! I seriously doubt it if my 'hero' could be considered as hero material.
Okay, I confess. My other 4 projects are rather unusual too. I always had and will have a liking for unusual romances. But this time?...
Wow, things are strange, really.

I have a hero with a Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. He's a killer and has a total lac of morals. My heroine is a golddigger.

*sigh*

But I do have my plot line. Hehehe :D

Perhaps I should just go with the flow, and simply write this Nano project.

Anywho, what do you guys think?

Thursday Thirteen # 10

OMG, I just noticed a (big) mistake! Well, perhaps not that bad, but still. It took me 10 weeks before seeing it!

10 weeks, that's a looooong time.

Only today I found out we've been writing Thursday Thirteen wrong from the start. We wrote Thirsday.... d'oh! *dumbass*

Anyway, I know I'm a bit late today. I had school and that kept me from writing here ;-)
I've thought about this TT's theme all day long. Untill a few seconds ago, I had no clue what to do. But then something tickled my mind. You all know how fond I am of using smileys. Well... Let's talk about my favorite smileys/emoticons today. Or the ones I use the most:

  1. This is '1 tooth' or '1tand' in Dutch. It's my most used smiley. I just love it. It's funny and very much me. It suits almost every occasion, hahaha.

  2. This one then, is close to '1tand'. Every time I see it, I imagine it making sounds like: 'har-har-har'. Much like a sea captain.

Everyone knows this one. I use it a lot. Well, it makes me feel like a cheery person, you know?

This is a well known smiley as well. Same story here, it's cheery!

This, I use when I'm ashamed. Mostly, there is always an *oops* that follows...

I like to use this when I'm thinking about something. It's my 'hmmmm' smiley.

The one I use when I'm 'in shock'. Mostly when I don't know what to say.

This is the most common in whole smiley-land, everyone knows it. So of course I'm bound to use it a lot, hehe...

Drooling. Hahaha, this one can be used when discussing boys and/or cake. It's used frequently on this computer ;-)

Hehehe, this is a fun one too. The one I use when trying to act innocent... Bwahaha...

This is when I'm in an 'evil' mood. Simply put, that's the one I use when I'm acting like a complete bitch...

The naughty one. Does this need any explanation? :P

The yay-one, I use it when there's something to celebrate, woohoo!

And as a bonus, just for the fun of it (I found it somewhere on a Gerard Butler fan site board) :

Hahaha, long live Gerry Butler? :P

        Happy TT to you all!

        Woohooo! Party! 21!!!!

It's her birthday, it's her birthday. Put your hands in the air, it's her birthday!

Yes peeps, Stien is now officially a grown up.

        *Snort* Yeah right... :P

        We (Sonja and I)

went to Leuven today, to bring Stien all the best wishes in the world. And of course, we brought presents too ;-)

A fan, a purple one. Showing here, together with Stien:

And a game called: The badass girl's guide to poker, all you need to beat the boys!

        Heheheh... Looks good, doesn't it?

Well, we didn't actually play it (yet), but we will!... Eventually.

        We had a great time.

We went shopping (Stien bought a gorgeous pink sweater), and afterwards, Stien cooked dinner. She made thai noodles, which were very, very hot, and left me with a burning mouth! *Hot-hot-hot*
But except from that minor detail, it was quite tasty.

And then it was time to go back home :-(

All I want to say now is: Stien, sweety, I hope you had a wonderful day! Kisses and more Birthday Wishes!

        Love,
        Son and Andi :-D

        Thursday Thirteen # 9...

Yeah, 9 already. We keep it going, hahaha :-D

Today I was thinking about doing something with the theme 'birthdays', since Stien's is quickly approaching.

        So, here we go:

13 Happy Birthday Wishes for Stien!

        1. First of all, I wish Stien a Happy, Happy Birthday! The very best there can be!!!
        2. Then, there are these 2 who want to wish Stien a Happy Birthday too: take a look
        3. And aaaah, another one! They are so great! These two, yeah!
        4. Aaah, I just love Hoops & Yoyo. I want to be Yoyo, the green one. Stien can be the pink one, Hoops. Hehehe *giggle*... They are just too cute to be true... Like Stien. She's so cute, I want to eat her. I mean, I want to eat her birthday cake. Yeah,... the cake, that's right! Hehehe, cake! That's my 4th wish. I wish her (and me) lot's of birthday cake. Yum!
        5. Then, there's this card I want to give to Stien: Hihihihihi...
        6. Or perhaps this one, I can't choose...
        7. I just love uncooked land. These cards are great! Rude, but great. I'm sure Stien share's this humour with me. That's why I love her so much!
        8. That's why I want to show her this one: See?!
        9. This is a bit of peptalk. I especially agree with the 'D'... and the 'Y'... and the 'B'... and....
        10. This one is just good for a great laugh: have a go: Hahahahahahaha!!!
        11. And, you know how much I like cake and parties. Well, Stien, I guess your party will look like this. If you invite me, that is... (I have quite a reputation when it comes to eating. I always tend to get messy. Don't know why that is though...)
        12. Wahahaha, I really don't know why/where I keep finding this stuff. But it's hilarious! Check it out!
        13. And last but not least... I love you hunni, and wish you can have the very best 21st birthday there is! I'll see you on your special day! ;-)

        Love,
        Andi

        Update

        Hi everyone!

Well, I guess I'm not feeling so horrible anymore. My mom and I had a little talk and everything was cleared. Except my sister who acts like a real brat almost every other day.

In a few days, it's Stien's birthday. I'm preparing some surpises for her, but shhhhhhhhhhhtt, don't tell her that ;-)
Her birthday is the 23rd, so I have a couple more days...

This week has been rather quiet, but it allowed me a bit to relax. Tomorrow I have a school day. The first of this week. I know, it's strange, but I guess that's school life after high school, eh?

Anyway, I have some more reviews for you, let's say, this weekend. And of course, a TT tomorrow!

        See you then,
        Andi ;-)

        Feeling like shit...

I thought I hadn't anything to say today. But here I am...

I don't feel so good today. Don't know what it is. Perhaps I'm getting sick or something like that. All I know is that I don't feel 100%, that I didn't do much today, except for curling up on the couch with a book. Even my mom noticed. She had a party to go to. Some sort of class reunion. She asked me to do her hair.
I did, it looked rather nice, but she kept fussing about it why I did it 'that way'... *roll eyes*

Anyway, I was grumpy today. I helped her looking for a purse that matched her outfit. She was in my sister's room, looking into the closet for a purse, when I entered. Feeling already grumpy, I got pissed when I saw something shiny on a shelf, she quickly shut the closet door and she gave me a guilty look.
        "What was that?" I asked.
        "Nothing." she said.

I pulled the closet door open and guess what I saw...
You know, after that episode, when I had come home to find all that candy in the cupboards, my mom hid it the next day. Really childish to do, but I guess she didn't want to 'tempt' me. *Come on, please!*
Anyway, I didn't go looking for it or anything. I just forgot about it. Untill today, that is.

So, I opened that door, and saw all those cookies lying there. And Milky Ways, and candy... In my sister's room.

And that hurt. Big time. Now I just feel like crying. It's like they treat me like some fatty, who has to be protected from the evil chocolate!

And I really hated that guilty look on my mom's face, and how she tried to make a save on the whole situation.

"Do you want a Milky Way?" she asked.
        "No." I said.
"Fuck you," I wanted to say...

Now it's a couple of hours later, my sister is back home (she was with a friend today), and I'm sitting here. I didn't speak much today. And now my sister is asking all these annoying questions. Why I am so silent, why I don't come downstairs,...

Well, I don't like talking much when I'm in a mood like this. Perhaps it will go better tomorrow. I don't know. Maybe I just have to sleep over it...

        Thursday Thirteen # 8...

I went to 'Het Boekenfestijn' today. That's a book festival, somewhat like a travelling book fair. The best thing about it, is that the books are really, really cheap! Like, let's say, a dollar for a book, if you are lucky. I bought 13 items today...

The 13 books I bought today:
        1. Emma Brown, A novel from the unfinished manuscript by Charlotte Brontë, by Clare Boylan.
        2. The Legend of Holly Claus, by Brittney Ryan.
        3. The Scarlet Pimpernel, by Baroness Emmuska Orczy.
        4. If I had you, by Lynn Kurland.
        5. The Lady in Question, by Judith Laik.
        6. The House Party, by Jeanne Savery.
        7. The Duchess' Lover, by Julie Beard.
        8. The Seduction of Sarah, by Cynthia Clement.
        9. The Chase, by Cheryl Sawyer.
        10. Black Beauty, by Anna Sewell.
        11. Het karakter van katten, by Stephen Budainsky.
        12. CatTITUDE, the feline guide to being fabulous, by Kim Levin and Christine Montaquila.
        13. I am puppy, hear me yap. The ages of dog, by V. Shaff and R. Blount Jr.

        Voila,

        Love,
        Andi :-)

        Long Time No Blog

        Hi everyone,

I know, I know, haven't been blogging for a while. It has been hectical around here, first weeks of university requiered some adapment from me. I'm also having trouble with the internet connection provided by my school.
Andi and I had our get together this week, our friend Sonja came along aswell. I was very pleased to see the both of them. Altough I made some new friends here quickly, seeing Andi was like being home away from home.

First of all: Andi, there is no need to be jealous :D I made friends but none of them are as cool as you :D I don't have a boyfriend either, not even close to one. Not even a skinny nerdkid in a fancy shirt that is too big!
Some girls here made it their mission to get me a boyfriend before newyear's eve. Good luck girls! Not gonna happen.

Anyway, living in Leuven (the city where I study) is just a little different from life in our village. For starters, it is NEVER, and I mean NEVER...quiet around ere. Every day, around the hour there are loads of college kids walking to class. Every night the same kids walk the streets to find the nearest party or bar. It took some getting used to, but now I usually sleep the whole night through. That if ofcourse, if I am not one of those kids in search for a bar.
Like last night. The bar across the street was having "cocktail night"...cocktails were at 1.5 euro :D... As you can see living in Leuven has it's advantages as well :p

...shalalala...I am running out of things to say, and I kinda still need to read a chapter from the book before the next class starts (hurray!). Oh lord! I don't feel like going to class! We do have a cute professor for it. Helas! I don't mean cute in a hunky way! My prof is a guy that looks like the kind grandpa from candy commercials. You just wanna give him a hug or pinch his cheeks :D

...Anywhooooo...Islamic studies here I come... *Stien signing off*

P.S. to Andi: your sister might just be a little more skinny and she is a very pretty girl...but euhm... she is not as pretty as you :$ (she will probably hate me for saying so :p but aaaaahhh we all die...some day :D)

P.S. to all of you: I'm really sorry for spelling mistakes, could not find the time to read the text over. I will correct it afterwards so please ignore mistakes :p

I hate it when my mom goes shopping!

One of my mom's favorite lines, concerning me, usually sounds something like this:
"Oh, Andi, perhaps you should lose some weight?"
        Always great to hear, heh?

Anyway, I guess it could be true... sometimes. I mean, I can deal with that comment. My sister, for example, she has a great body. Lean, slim and gorgeous. She can eat whatever she wants, she won't gain anything. On the contrary, she will probably loose some weight too. *roll eyes*
And that can sometimes be depressing.

But see, I'm used to that. I can deal with it. But what I really, really hate then, is when I come home and notice that my mom went shopping. I open the cupboards and see, what seems to me, tons of candy, chocolate and cookies,...
I turn to my mom, she looks at me and says: "Oh well, that's not for you, it's for your sister."

Aaaaaaaaaaaarrrgh!!! That pisses me off so much! Especially when each time she says she won't buy that much candy/chocolate anymore, she does it anyway. Each, every, single time! Bah!

And it's so unfair! I mean, I'm a vegetarian, I mostly eat healthy. My sister doesn't. It seems like she just lives on pizza and chocolate. And cookies.
I have thought many times that she should look like me, and I like her, if only judged by the things we eat...
When I'm cooking dinner, she never want's to eat it. "Eeeeewww, vegtables!!!" she likes to say.

Oh well, I'm probably whining like hell here. But this is one of the few things that can really frustrate me.

        Love,
        a frustrated Andi :-(

        Remodelling...

        Hi,

Like you can see we've been 'updating' here :-D
        I hope you like it!

Yes yes, that are we on the picture ;-)

        Love,
        Andi

        Time for another review

        Hi there,

I'm back with another review. Now that I have more time to read, (every day 2 hours of travelling by train), I also have more to share with you.

Perhaps you don't know this yet, but I really like to read work by debut authors. So every now and then, I search that Kensington site for Zebra Debuts. Trust me, that way I have found a lot of good books already.

Plus that price is also very handy for such a poor student as myself ;-)
        Long live the discount!

Well, what do I have for you guys now? It's a book by Sara Reinke. Not her debut, I understand, but it is with Zebra.

        This is the back blurb:

When Brandon Noble and Angelina Jones first met, he was an awkward teenager harboring a crush on his tutor's sister. Five years later, Angelina is a streetwise cop who's sure she's seen it all, until Brandon comes back into her life - lean, handsome, possessing a strange, powerful allure... and a terrifying secret.

Brandon is one of the Brethren, an ancient clan of ruthless vampires. Like other Brethren families, the Nobles have accumulated great wealth and prestige, never marrying outside of their kin, never leaving the isolated Kentucky farmlands where they live, undetected, among their prey.
Horrified by his birthright, Brandon shunned the ritual of the first kill, earning the Brethren's lasting wrath. But the exhilarating passion he and Angelina share rouses the primitive impulses he has so hard tried to deny. And even if Brandon can protect Angelina from his enemies, can he save her from his own dark thirst?

Like many of you, who read paranormal romance, know, there is always such a stereotyping thing going on in those novels. The heroes are strong alpha males, the heroines totally beautiful women, and so on, blablablah,... You know the drill.
Well, not so in this book, hooray!!!

First of all, the hero, Brandon, is deaf, mute, 21, a virgin, and has little self-confidence, a low self-esteem. And that's totally yum, by the way!
The heroine, (Ange)Lina, is a cop, 26, black and super cool. I want to be like her when I grow up! She can kick some ass! *worshipping*

Brandon is a vampire. As a kid, he was attacked by burglars which costed him his hearing and his voice. But he lived, although he was almost slashed to pieces. Yeah, there's a lot of violence going on in this book.
Anywho, for this, he is considered weak by his family. His grandfather and Brandon's brother, Caine, are the two biggest assholes in this story. Stupid fuckfaces!
They treat him like shit, so it's no wonder Brandon wants to escape them. They want to force him into the Bloodletting. A ritual where a young vampire has to make his first kill. Brandon doesn't want this, so he flees from Kentucky to the city.
That's where he meets Lina again...

I don't want to spoil too much of this story. You have to read it for yourselves. But I do want to share my favorite passage with you guys. The one where Brandon kisses Lina for the first time. Totally hot, *swoon*, untill...

Lina didn't give him the chance. She caught his hand against her breast, folding her fingers about his, and then bright, excruciating pain seared up toward his shoulder and neck as she craned his wrist at a sudden, unnatural angle. He gasped sharply for breath as she hyperextended his arm, and he crumpled to his knees, helpless and immobilized.
"What the hell was that?" she demanded, hooking her free hand beneath his chin and jerking his face up to look at her. She looked wide-eyed and stricken, as stunned by his impulsive advance as he was.
" What's wrong with you? Why the hell did you do that?"
I'm sorry! I'm sorry! he signed, drawing his fist in quick, frantic circles above his heart. He grimaced as she momentarily flexed her grasp against him all the more, and then she stepped back, letting him go. Brandon drew his aching wrist against his belly and stumbled to his feet, trying to catch his breath.
Don't you ever do that again! Lina signed at him furiously. Who do you think you are? If you ever do that again, I'll break your goddamn arm! Do you understand?

God, I love this heroine! She's great.... so super fantastic great! Where else have you ever read about a heroine so totally cool?

Abouth what I understand, there are more books to come in these series. This is only the first book! I'm so blessed, he he he :-D

I think the second book will continue right where this one ended, or so I hope, since this ending was a bit open. I also hope we will see Brandon and Lina back in book two, because I want to read more about them, and about the great escape. I hope they'll make it!

(By the way, this would be a great movie!)

Hooray for Sara Reinke! I'm hooked!

        -xxx-
        Andi

P.S: I totally screwed up my copy of the book. Because of stupid me, the book got wet and looks like shit now. So when I'm placing my next order, I'll order a new one. See, that's how much I like this book!
